Reactivity

A successful bond is dependent on a harmonious relationship between the chosen adhesive and the adherend. What this means is that some adhesives will react to the chemical composition of the adherend, resulting in not only an unsuccessful bond, but disastrous, and often toxic effects. Here are some tips to avoid this heinous event. Make sure to let the adhesive completely cure, before assuming it is nonreactive. Some plastics have a protective coating that may slow down the deterioration.
